holistic wellness habits i’ll defend forever

holistic wellness habits i’ll defend forever

I’m not really interested in wellness that feels stressful.

The hyper-optimized, seventeen-step, “wake up at 4am and track your minerals” version?

Respectfully… not for me.

I’m much more interested in the quieter things.

The habits that make me feel clearer, calmer, healthier, more connected to myself, without needing to overhaul my entire life.

These are a few holistic wellness habits I genuinely swear by.

1. holistic massage

Nothing humbles you quite like realizing your shoulders have been sitting near your ears for three months.

A good holistic massage does more than relax your body.

It slows your nervous system down.

It reminds you that you actually live inside a body, not just a brain running endless tabs in the background.

And honestly? I underestimate how much tension I’m holding until I’m forced to release some of it.

Less “luxury treat.”
More: maintenance for being a human person in modern life.

2. a genuinely nourishing smoothie

Not a sad wellness smoothie that tastes aggressively healthy.

A proper one.

Something creamy, energizing, full of ingredients that make you feel like you’ve done something kind for yourself before 10am.

Fruit, greens, healthy fats, hydration, maybe a little protein moment.

Simple.

I’ve realized nourishment and restriction feel completely different in the body.

And the habits that stick usually come from care, not punishment.

3. philosophical books that expand your mind a little

This one changed more than I expected.

Reading philosophical or mindset books has this way of zooming me out of my own overthinking.

Suddenly I’m questioning bigger ideas:

How do I want to live?

What actually matters to me?

Am I creating a life that feels aligned… or just staying busy?

Not in a dramatic existential crisis way.

More in a grounding, perspective-shifting way.

Some books don’t just give you information.

They change the way you see yourself and your life.

That’s wellness too, in my opinion.

4. nature

The ocean. Trees. Walking outside. Morning sun. Beach air.

Nature has a way of making everything feel less loud.

Not magically fixed.

Just… softer.

I think we underestimate how much time we spend disconnected from the environments our bodies actually respond well to.

Fresh air, movement, sunlight, less screen time, a wider view than your laptop.

Simple things.

But strangely powerful ones.

maybe holistic wellness is simpler than we make it

Maybe it isn’t always expensive supplements, perfect routines, or doing wellness “correctly.”

Maybe it’s slowing down enough to notice what genuinely makes you feel good.

What supports your body.

What nourishes your mind.

What helps you feel more present inside your own life.

Quiet habits.

But good ones.
