Somewhere between “I’ll just grab one quickly” and knowing exactly which café has the best ice, here we are.
The thing is, I’m not even one of those intense coffee people. I don’t know tasting notes. I can’t tell you if something has “caramel undertones.” I just know when a coffee feels right.
And apparently, I’ve made it my mission to find the perfect one.
the coffee freezo phase
There was a period where coffee freezos had me emotionally attached.
Cold, sweet, blended, slightly dramatic.
They feel less like coffee and more like a reward for surviving the day.
Not exactly a “serious coffee person” choice, but honestly? I stand by it.
the iced vanilla latte from mcdees
This one surprised me. My friend Kyla got me hooked on them (lol).
A little too sweet? Yes.
But also weirdly good.
It tastes like the type of coffee you get when you’re running errands and accidentally romanticize your entire day for twenty minutes.
Very reliable. Very comforting.
starbucks iced coffee (dangerously good)
I already know if I get a Starbucks iced coffee after 12pm, my sleep schedule is finished.
Like completely.
I’ll be lying in bed at 1am thinking about my entire life while my heart quietly vibrates.
But unfortunately… it’s so good.
There’s something about it that feels unnecessarily powerful. One drink and suddenly I want to reorganize my life, answer emails, and become productive.
It’s less of a beverage and more of an event.
the classic cappuccino with almond milk (always)
A cappuccino feels mature.
Like I suddenly have important thoughts and somewhere to be.
It’s comforting in a very traditional way, warm mug, quiet café, slightly colder weather outside.
Not my everyday order, but it always feels right when I do get one.
filter coffee: small cup, huge consequences
Filter coffee is no joke.
You think you’re just having a casual little pick-me-up and suddenly you can hear colours.
It’s strong. Extremely strong.
But weirdly effective on low-energy days when you need your brain to come back online quickly.
Definitely not something I drink for fun though. More for survival.
my final answer? iced vanilla latte forever
At the end of all this highly unnecessary research, I fear I’ve become exactly what I was meant to be:
an iced vanilla latte girl.
It’s just elite.
Cold coffee will always win for me. I don’t care if it’s winter. I don’t care if my hands are freezing. Something about iced coffee feels better, looks better, and somehow tastes better too.
It’s become part of the ritual now.
And honestly, I don’t think I’m searching for the perfect coffee anymore.
I think I already found it.
