the 3 books i’m reading right now (and what they’re teaching me)

Lately, my reading stack feels intentional.

Not random. Not aesthetic-only.
But aligned with who I’m becoming.

The three books on my nightstand right now are stretching me in very different ways,  financially, mentally, and spiritually.

Here’s what I’m reading, and what they’re quietly shifting in me.

The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel

This book isn’t about budgeting spreadsheets or stock tips.
It’s about behavior.

The biggest takeaway so far?
Money isn’t math. It’s emotion.

We like to think wealth is built on intelligence, but it’s often built on patience, humility, and consistency. The people who win financially aren’t necessarily the smartest, they’re the ones who avoid self-sabotage.

It’s making me reflect on:

  • How I define “enough”

  • Whether my goals are driven by ego or security

  • The power of long-term thinking in a short-term world

Wealth, according to Housel, is what you don’t see.
It’s the money not spent.
The lifestyle not inflated.
The quiet compounding happening in the background.

Awaken the Giant Within by Tony Robbins

This one is bold. Intense. Action-driven.

It’s about ownership. Radical ownership.

The core message?
Your decisions shape your destiny.

Not your circumstances.
Not your past.
Not your mood.

Your standards.

It’s challenging me to:

  • Raise the standard of what I accept from myself

  • Stop romanticizing procrastination

  • Get clear about what I actually want

It’s not soft. It’s activating.

But sometimes growth requires fire, not just calm.

On the Road by Jack Kerouac

This one feels different.

Messy. Poetic. Restless.

It’s about freedom, longing, movement, searching for meaning.

Reading it makes me want to:

  • Loosen my grip a little

  • Romanticize my own life more

  • Be open to detours

It’s reminding me that not everything has to be optimized.

Some seasons are for structure.
Some seasons are for wandering.

There’s something powerful about allowing life to be a little unscripted.

If I’m honest, this reading trio reflects exactly where I am:

  • Building financial intelligence

  • Raising personal standards

  • Still craving freedom and expansion

Structure + ambition + curiosity.

That’s the balance I’m chasing.

Reading isn’t just consumption.
It’s calibration.

And these three books are helping me recalibrate how I think about money, discipline, and living fully.

If you’ve read any of them, I’d love to know what stayed with you.
