Capris?
They’re kind of… everything right now. I literally remember wearing them as a kid, and I personally loved it, but it definitely wasn’t the coolest thing ever.
If you told me five years ago I’d willingly be shopping for cropped pants, I would’ve laughed. I’ve been judged sooo harshly on my clothing choices, and it sort of jaded me for a minute about just choosing what I wanted to wear (thank goodness that’s over).
Fashion has this funny way of making you question everything you once swore you’d never wear. First it was ballet flats (love!). Then low-rise jeans (love!) made a comeback. And now? Capris have officially entered the chat.
And honestly?
I get it.
There’s something effortlessly cool about them. They’re playful, a little nostalgic, and somehow manage to feel both polished and relaxed at the same time.
I think the reason they’re having such a moment is because fashion is moving away from trying too hard.
We’re craving pieces that feel wearable.
Easy.
A little undone.
We’re seeing a lot of ’90s and early 2000s influence again, but this time it’s styled in a much more elevated way. Instead of dressing for trends, people are dressing for a feeling.
Confident.
Comfortable.
Effortless.
And capris fit that vibe perfectly.
Here are three ways I’d wear them.
1. Oversized Hoodie + Trainers
This is probably my favourite.
There’s something about pairing fitted capris with an oversized hoodie that just works.
It’s giving “I grabbed a matcha after Pilates.”
It’s comfortable without looking like you gave up.
Throw on your favourite trainers, a pair of sunglasses, and you’ve somehow created one of those outfits that looks expensive without trying too hard.
This is definitely my coffee run, Sunday morning, “I’m just popping out” outfit.
Except somehow everyone asks where your hoodie is from.
2. Kitten Heels + A Cropped Jacket
If I was going out for dinner or drinks, this is exactly how I’d style them.
A pair of black capris.
A little cropped jacket.
Kitten heels.
Simple jewellery.
Hair slicked back.
It’s chic without being overly dressed up.
The kitten heels add just enough femininity, while the cropped jacket keeps everything structured and modern.
It feels very “model off duty.”
Minimal effort.
Maximum cool-girl energy.
3. A Cute Top That Makes You Feel Good
Sometimes you don’t need an occasion.
Sometimes you just want to wear something that makes you feel a little more like yourself.
I’d pair capris with a fitted tank, an off-the-shoulder top, or something with a soft, feminine silhouette.
Maybe a linen shirt tied at the waist.
Maybe a romantic blouse.
Maybe something with a little lace.
Whatever makes you feel confident.
Because the best outfits aren’t always the trendiest ones.
They’re the ones that make you walk a little taller.
Smile a little more.
Feel a little more like you.
And I think that’s why I’m loving capris so much.
They’re versatile enough to feel casual during the day, but with a few simple swaps, they can instantly become something you’d wear for date night or drinks with the girls.
I think the best part about fashion is that it doesn’t have to make sense.
Sometimes you love something simply because it makes you feel good.
That’s exactly how I feel about capris.
Will they still be trending in five years?
Maybe.
Maybe not.
But right now, they’re fun.
They’re effortless.
They’re a little nostalgic.
And they’re reminding me that style is supposed to be playful.
So yes…
Consider this my official apology to capris.
I judged you too soon. Well, I allowed other people’s opinions to judge what I like.
Now excuse me while I go build my entire spring wardrobe around them.
